Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The Art of Animation hotel is a no fuss value resort that offers both standard rooms and themed- family suites.  Rooms can accommodate up to six individuals and include a separate bedroom, two bathrooms and a kitchenette. With rooms featuring Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid there’s something for everyone.

Accommodations

It’s rare to find a true suite at a value on a Disney property.  The family suites are found in the Cars, Nemo, and Lion King sections.  The Little Mermaid area offers standard rooms only. With a small kitchenette you can bring groceries and make simple meals/lunches to take with you to the parks or just have the convenience of having a bit more space to spread out.  They’re also themed out even down to the bathroom tiles so you’ll be fully immersed in your favorite Disney film experience.

Amenities

Check out one of their 3 pools including the largest resort pool among the Walt Disney World properties.  There’s also a splash pad adjacent to the larger pool for the littles. When you’re done cooling off there is the Righteous Reef Playground (near the nemo pool) to help your littles burn off some energy.  For older kids there is also the Pixel Play Arcade. And while they have a 1.38 mile jogging path around the resort they do not offer a gym. In the evening there is ‘movies under the stars’ outside where you can watch some of your favorite Disney films.

Dining

The primary dining location, Landscape of Flavors, is a quick service cafeteria-style eatery that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It’s casual and no fuss but when you have really small kids I appreciate that. Got a screaming toddler? Most of it will get absorbed in the noise of the restaurant and there’s likely someone nearby who can commiserate.  You’re in good company.

There’s also the Drop Off pool bar serving up your favorite adult beverages.

If you’re feeling like room service they offer in room pizza delivery.

Transportation

You can get to all the disney resorts, waterparks, hotels and Disney Springs through their complimentary bus system.  The bus picks up and drops off in the front of the hotel.

In the Fall of 2019 the new gondola system The Skyliner should be finished and you will be able to get to Epcot, Hollywood studios and several other resorts with a relaxing bird’s eye view of the area.

Staying at a Disney resort also gets you access to the Magical Express for easy airport transfers and luggage handling (advance reservation required).

If you’re looking for a private transfer you can also order a Minnie Van operated by Lyft to get around town, to the parks, and the airport (additional rates apply).
